Editing and Coaching Services

As a practicing writer who has worked in both commercial and literary publishing, my expertise is in listening—listening to authors and the texts they create so as to honor each work’s intentions. My editorial approach is collaborative, focused, and fun. If you’re looking to bring your book into the world, let’s talk!

  • Packet Consultation

Together, we design an approach that works for you, including: editing small groups of poems, providing prompts, Zoom conferences and more.

  • Manuscript Review

Especially for poets: when you have enough poems for a collection, we’ll work together to determine what level of feedback you’ll need, from an editorial letter to a deep line-edit.

Testimonials

“Working with Erin is a dream. She brings a wealth of publishing knowledge and a studied, academic eye to every manuscript she edits. Her wry wit and encouraging nature lend much enjoyment to the editorial process and help the work of revision seem less arduous. Erin has the ability to look at any manuscript and discern what the author is trying to convey, and with her aptitude for prose and poetry, to help them say it in the most evocative and beautiful way. She is thorough, kind, and honest. I couldn't recommend her more highly.”

Paulette Kennedy, bestselling author of The Devil and Mrs. Davenport

"I absolutely loved working with Erin. She is a deep and perceptive reader who draws on her extensive editing experience to share concrete, effective ways to make a story stronger, richer, and more compelling. She is kind, constructive, and insightful in her feedback, and she always keeps the love of words, poetry, and storytelling front and center.

She is also funny as hell.

I can’t recommend her highly enough."

Jennifer Sherman Roberts, author of The Village Healer's Book of Cures
